Saturday 4 July is dominated by two events. It’s Ladies’ Final Day at Wimbledon and the Tour De France.

Ladies’ Final coverage starts at 13.25 introduced by thinking man’s night thought Sue Barker. Will the Williams Amazons be slugging it out again or will the Russians be invading the event ?

Live coverage of the start of the Tour De France starts at 16.30 when there’s a Time Trial from Monaco. This Classic Cycling event will also take in Andorra, Italy, Spain & Switzerland before finishing in Paris in three weeks time. Follow it here at the Twa Dugs. (More coverage at 20.00)

There are other things going on on Saturday.

At 12.50 there’s Highlights of  the latest Motorsport action from around the UK. Then, at 13.50, there’s Highlights from this year’s Le Mans 24Hour Race.

At 14.00, there’s Horse Racing from Haydock Park and Sandown Park for all our betting experts in the corner (that means you Mr. Hart).

At 15.30 there’s the third round of the Red Bull Air Race from Windsor, Ontario, Canada.

If  you want some relief from handing all your money to Willam Hill on a hot, sticky Saturday afternoon, why not watch that mad Basketball film, Space Jam at 16.05. Starring the brilliant Michael Jordan and a host of Looney Tunes characters, it should re-introduce your ‘feel-good’ factor. Look out for Marvin The Martian. He’s out-of-this-world !

There’s a programme on at 19.00 celebrating some of Boxing’s Greatest Champions. Introduced by Jim Rosenthal, it features a profile of Muhammed Ali.

It all starts at 13.30 on Sunday when Andy Roddick steps out to be cannon-fodder for Roger Federer on the Men’s Final day of this year’s Wimbledon. Who will it be ? Who cares as long as the Fisherman’s Friend, Sue Barker is introducing it ? Watch it with your Pimms here at the Twa Dugs !

If  you are seriously sick of the tennis there’s Live coverage of the Tour De France from Monaco at 14.30. There’s further coverage at 19.00.

At 16.30 there’s more coverage of the Red Bull Air Race from Canada.

At 20.00, following on from the Tour De France, there’s a programme called Chris Boardman: The Final Hour. This follows the Ingerlishman’s attempt to break Eddie Merkx’s One Hour Speed Cycling Record.

There’s Live coverage from Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca near Monterey, California of the eighth round of the Moto GP at 22.00. Watch Valentino Rossi attempt to keep his lead at the top of the Championship in the US of A.

Monday dawns at the end of a hectic weekend, isn’t that right Messieur Le Frenchie ? And, staying with our French theme, at 13.00 it’s the third stage of the Tour De France from Monaco to Brignoles. Further coverage at 19.00.

At 19.15 our Cricket fans can catch Hidden Ashes 05. Ahead of the Ingerland v. Australia Test starting on Wednesday in Cardiff (that’s in Wales isn’t it ?), this programme goes behind the scenes during the Ashes Series of 2005.

At 20.00 there’s a Documentary called Race Across America. It’s all about the Annual Cycle Race from Coast to Coast across the US of A.

Tuesday and we return to France for the Third Stage of the Tour De France covering Marseille to Le Grande-Motte. Coverage starts at 13.00 with further coverage at 19.00.

There’s Motorsport Highlights at 17.00 and more Cricket with Hidden Ashes 05 at 19.15.

Wednesday’s Tour De France action comes from Montpelier at 13.00 when there is a 39Km. Team Time Trial. More at 19.00.

At 13.15 we have Horse Racing from Newmarket.

At 19.15 there’s Highlights of the First Day’s Play in the Ashes Series between Ingerland and Australia from the SWALEC Stadium, Cardiff, WALES ? Introduced by Mark Nicholas, studio guests include Geoff Boycott, Ian Chappell and Simon Hughes.

Thursday 9 July brings us more action from France with the Fifth Stage of the Tour De France from Le Cap D’Agde to Perpignan. Highlights at 19.00.

Have a look at our Whisky board ! On the left-hand wall, in between the two TVs, we now have a board with  more than sixty whiskys you can enjoy here with the help of that great emporium Rabbie’s Drams in Sandgate. Their age, strength and price per nip are there for all to see. Why not have a wee dram ! And, while were talking about it, why not have your wee dram in one of our ‘Limited Edition’  Twa Dugs Whisky Glasses ? A steal at £3.95.

There’s a real treat for our Real Ale people this week when we’ll be providing Theakstons at 3.8% ABV and Courage Directors at 4.8% . Directors was the first Real Ale I drank regularly back down at The Phoenix in Rainham, Essex in the eighties and I can’t wait to get outside of a few pints. Yum, yum !

Welcome to the Twa Dugs Blog.

Here you will find information on upcoming Entertainment each weekend, all the latest Sport on TV, Drinks Promotions, our latest Real Ales and our monthly newsletter, The Dugs Bollocks!

Don’t forget, ‘How Far Is The Nearest Pint ?’, Captain Bob Shields’ Booker Prize-winning autobiography, can still be picked up for two pounds here at the Twa Dugs. If you’re really lucky, he’ll even sign it for you although, of course, that would devalue it because you know how books go down in value if they’ve got scribbling in them. **NEWSFLASH – Dateline 3 July. He sold four today to some mad women !!!**
